How to Post Media on Instagram Without a Smartphone πŸ“±

True confession: I’m a troglodyte and don’t own a smartphone. If you are like me, you need a way to post media on Instagram without a phone.

When you log into Instagram on a desktop or laptop computer using a web browser, there is no option to upload photos or videos. But I figured out a work around…

I’m sharing my solution to posting media on Instagram using a Windows desktop. You can try this on a Mac, albeit I have not done so myself.

  1. Log into Instagram using the Chrome browser. If you don’t have it installed on your computer, download here.
  2. Hit the F12 key.
  3. Hit Ctrl + Shift + M keys. The view on the left should narrow into simulated smart phone mode.
  4. Hit Ctrl R to refresh. The view on the left should now show a + symbol at the bottom of the page.
  5. Hit the + symbol to upload your image.

Try it. At first, my work around might seem a little confusing. But you will quickly get the hang of it. 😎
