Science Geeks Rejoice! πŸ€“ Jim Al-Khalili Physics Videos! πŸ₯³

Here are some accessible to layperson physics videos you may enjoy by Jim Al-Khalili, a theoretical physicist and professor of Public Engagement in Science at the University of Surrey.

I appreciate the difficulty distilling equations and complex theories into something palatable to a general audience. He does a wonderful job!

This may sound counter-intuitive, but I have an interest in science as I explore the true nature of God. I say this because I am convinced, beyond a shadow of any doubt, that God exists, based on some profound spiritual experiences.

I don’t dismiss people who believe we live in a giant simulation. But my current preference is that we live in a physical universe with laws that can be defined and verified by experimentation, in 100% agreement with Jim Al-Khalili.

Where does God fit in? I don’t rightly know. I am weighing two possibilities albeit both or neither may be real:

  • Classical God of religion and spiritual traditions.
  • Scientific God: A collection of super-advanced sentient beings linked by telepathy who are able to answer prayers and provide guidance to those they deem worthy or of good intent. This includes prayers from atheists, albeit I think I may have to come up with a more palatable term for them so they won’t close their minds.

To further confuse you, it could be that some or all of the alien visitations could be emissaries of the scientific God. Shelve that one for the time being, albeit I think I’ve encountered them.

I do indeed believe that the concepts of science and the divine will be compatible and understood in the future.

Are there any practical applications to getting the spiritual and atheists to pray in unison? Yes! Together, the good people of the Earth could root out evil via a global epiphany.

Let’s take a small slice of the evil that pervades the Earth: the present political climate in America. Here is a rough guesstimate where I see people coming from. Percentages are from the entire United Stated population:

  • 5% overt evil doers: politicians, big tech and media allies, paid and ideologically motivated unpaid provocateurs, e.g. terrorists.
  • 35% passive who look the other way wearing blinders, but still support the overt evil doers. I call them the Good Germans.
  • 60% good people who are the victims of the first two groups.

Imagine if we could get a healthy percentage of the good people (spiritual and atheists) to pray together for the evil to be rooted from our lives?

Yes indeed, concrete action is always needed as well. But I am convinced that the prayer would give us the edge needed to win this epic battle of good versus evil.

If this blog has run asunder, it is because it is the culmination of much suffering, unbearable for days on end of emotional pain and some very deep introspection.

And in the middle of it I took solace in science and films, including 2001 A Space Odyssey. Solace lead me to the scientific God.

The Blu-ray video of the film came with a bunch of mini documentaries and one of the concepts was the nature of God. Somewhere in there was a mention of the scientific God.

And here we are about to watch some science videos.
