Dr. Pet Mom Celebrates Year Three! πŸ₯³

February is a big month for Dr. Pet Mom! Why? Because we’re celebrating Dr. Pet Mom’s third anniversary on the planet! We’re proud, happy and thrilled to encourage people to adopt animals. Senior and special needs animals have a special place in my heart. I want to help as many as possible find their furrever homes.

Special Thank Yous

First of all, let me send a great big THANK YOU to all my Dr. Pet Mom followers on social media!! Every pet parent deserves recognition for helping a pet in any way.

And a very personal THANK YOU to all our pet friends. Each day I spend with my kitty Oscar is an adventure. He’s full of surprises, mischief, happiness, and fun.

Oscar shares his joy and love with me. Animal lovers everywhere know how special head bumps and purrs make us feel.

And another special THANK YOU to non-pet parents. If you’re not a foster or adoptive pet parent, you still deserve recognition.

Your donations in time, money and good will help make life better for rescue animals everywhere. Anything we can do to help animals is a good thing.

2021 Social Media Highlights

We’re holding steady at one blog a week for 52 weeks. We’ve added more interviews, tips and helping hints for our pet parent community. Readers can learn about pet safety tips, how to create a pet legacy, or how to find the best leash to train your kitty.

Our fun reads include interviews with other animals lovers and organizations that do the day-to-day work of saving animals in shelters and rescues.

And our social media postings continue.

Dr. Pet Mom Book Highlights

The biggest Year Three highlight is that I’m in the last stages of finishing my book titled, Dr. Pet Mom’s Pet Parenting Guide: How to Enjoy the Love and Friendship of Your Senior and Special Needs Pets.

My book includes interviews, a valuable list of pet parenting resources, and an extensive index as a roadmap for pet parenting tips.

I still plan to launch my book in the Spring of 2022. And I’m working on an exciting book co-launch celebration with an expert in creating a pet trust for families and their pets.

My marketing plans have changed since the global shift in our business interactions. I’m planning virtual tours, podcasts, and online speaking events. More updates and blogs on this exciting project to follow!!

Highs and Lows

Highs: The highs of 2021 included no recurring health problems for Oscar. He’s letting me brush his teeth daily (no easy task) followed by his favorite treat: coconut. He loves coconut shavings and now his fur is healthy, full and beautiful.

Another high for me was in learning to let go of external noise and focus on what I want to experience in life. Focus is my core of sanity and happiness that I want to share with you, our pet parenting community.

Lows: A low point were delays in resolving @SocialClaude’s serious health problems. He finally had a life-saving procedure in January 2022 and is on his way to a steady and optimist full recovery.

Another low point adapting to a hybrid workplace. I enjoy being at home with the family but still miss seeing co-workers in the office. And I miss “Wag Wednesday”, a weekly event to promote adopting homeless pets.

2022: Looking Ahead

Life is full of set backs and challenges that test our perseverance. That’s what I told myself when I worked on my PhD — it’s still true as I work to help more senior and special needs animals find their furrever homes.

A new and exciting 2022 announcement is the launch of our newsletter called Dr. Pet Mom’s Delightful Pet Menagerie (DPM). The newsletter will be available through email invites – more details to follow!

I hope you join me in looking ahead to a joyful and success year helping our animal friends!

Thanks for stopping by!
