PAWS Act (Puppies Assisting Wounded Servicemembers): Help for America’s Veterans 🎖️

America’s veterans deserve all the best services we can give them. Many veterans served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, the Gulf War or the Vietnam War. But between 11% and 30% veterans (more women than men) suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

May is Adopt A Horse Month celebrated by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Groups like the American Horse Council promote and highlight the need to find loving homes for horses, donkeys and mules across the country.

May is also my two-year anniversary as a volunteer at the horse farm. This special edition is all about some cool things I’ve learned about horses. Enjoy!

Interview: Project K-9 Hero Founder, Jason Johnson 🎖️

I’m happy to re-post my interview with Jason Johnson, Founder and CEO of the nonprofit, Project K-9 Hero Foundation. This wonderful organization helps retired military working dogs.

Johnson explained that Project K-9 Hero was formed in March of 2016, to assist retired Police K-9 and Military Working Dog Heroes with medical care, food, and death benefit assistance.

March 13 is National K-9 Veterans Day in honor of military service and working dogs in the United States military.
