In celebration of Adopt A Senior Pet Month in November, I’m re-posting my interview about Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary. Enjoy!

The month of November feels like the true holiday season has arrived! This month, we celebrate National Senior Pet Month and the ASPCA’s Adopt a Senior Pet Month. Senior pets are as gentle, loving, and loyal as any younger pet.

In celebration of all senior pets, I’m happy to share my interview with Founder and Director, Doreen Jakubcak. Out of love for Marty, a rescue dog who forever changed her life, Doreen created a wonderful and loving home for senior pets called Marty’s Place Senior Dog Sanctuary.

Pet Adoptions: Kittens, Special Needs and Senior Cats Too! 🐱

The month of August seems to be a peak season for kittens. Weather permitting, kitten season can run from spring into winter. I volunteer for a local animal rescue, Bay State Animal Cooperative (BSAC). Since late July, I’ve processed adoption applications mostly for kittens. But I’m excited to share that more people are also looking for senior cats or special needs cats!

Senior and Special Needs Pet Tips ♿️

This week, I stopped to pet some on my favorite doggy friends, Stanley and Grace. Stanley is a tiny special needs Chihuahua and Grace is his seven-year-old Chihuahua sibling. When I see them in town, I always talk to there pet dad – he’s happy when I stop to pet his little pals.

Grace and Stanley remind me of Dr. Pet Mom’s mission: To create a pet parent community to encourage adoption of rescue and shelter animals. Adoption includes helping senior and special needs pets find their forever homes.

Dr. Pet Mom Celebrates Year Two! 🥳

February is a big month for Dr. Pet Mom! Why? Because we’re celebrating Dr. Pet Mom’s second anniversary on the planet! We’re proud, happy and thrilled to encourage people to adopt animals. Senior and special needs animals have a special place in my heart. I want to help as many as possible find their furrever homes.

Summer officially starts this weekend! As the new season begins, it’s time for a project update. I’m excited to announce that my latest book, Dr. Pet Mom’s Pet Parenting Guide: How to Enjoy the Love and Friendship of Senior and Special Needs Pets, is well underway.

Dr. Pet Mom Celebrates Year One! 🥳

Leap year is a special year for anyone born on February 29. Dr. Pet Mom is also celebrating a special day in the last week of February. February 24 marks the first anniversary of Dr. Pet Mom!!!

First of all, a big THANK YOU! to all my Dr. Pet Mom followers on social media. Every pet parent deserves recognition for helping a pet. Anything we can do to help animals is a good thing. And thanks to you, our pet parent community is growing.

It feels great to celebrate and build on our six-month milestones.
