Happy first week of the Fall! Sharing a re-post one of my favorite interviews with animal lover and photographer, Lori Fusaro. Lori’s photos of older dogs and cats helps them find their furrever homes. She is a Dr. Pet Mom Star! Thanks, Lori 🙂

Professional photographer and owner of Fusaro Photography, Lori Fusaro, is a longtime advocate for homeless animals. Her motto: “No dog should die alone.” Lori also volunteers her time at overcrowded animal shelters in the Los Angeles area. Her photographs of older cats and dogs improve their chances of adoption. Older pets give us their unconditional love and the lasting gift of joyful memories.

Her clients include many animal rescue organizations such as BAD RAP, Guide Dogs for the Blind, K9 Connection, and Angel City Pit Bulls. Lori lives in California with her husband, Darrell, their two rescue dogs, Gabby and Mr. French, and their two cats, Francis and Enzo.

National Therapy Animal Day: Interview with Denise Cochran of North Star Therapy Animals 🐶

April 30 is National Therapy Animal Day, a day to recognize the amazing work of therapy animals. And promote public education about the role of therapy animals in the well-being of humans and other animals. We also honor the thousands of compassionate handlers who volunteer their time. Together, these dedicated teams bring sunshine into the lives of people in their communities.

April 30 is National Arbor Day, a celebration of trees and promoting tree planting and care. I’m re-posting my 2019 blog about Dr. Wangari Maathai, the “tree lady of Africa” and Founder of the Green Belt Movement.

Changing The World: Women Who Save Animals 👩🏽‍ 🐔 🐈 🐕

We close out Women’s History Month by recognizing some invisible heroines. This week, we celebrate women pioneers who help animals. Maybe they didn’t set out to change the world, but these women saved the lives of many animals, big and small.

Each September we celebrate National Dog Week, the last full week of the month. Many of you know about my ‘bipetual’ nature – I love cats and dogs!! Oscar, my adopted rescue cat, is my best friend. And I keep a warm place in my heart for many neighborhood dogs.

I’m happy to share my interview with Laurie Williams, owner of the Pup ‘N Iron Canine Fitness & Learning Center. Pup ‘N Iron is a daycare, fitness, activity, behavioral training, and wellness center for dogs located in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

National Arbor Day and Remembering Wangari Maathai 🥳

Note: Today is National Arbor Day, a celebration of the role of trees in our lives and promoting tree planting and care. I’m reposting my 2019 blog about Dr. Wangari Maathai, Founder of the Green Belt Movement.

In 2007, the late Dr. Maathai launched the Billion Tree Campaign. To date, 193 countries planted 15 billion trees. Plant for the Planet honors Dr. Maathai’s achievements by taking the campaign to the next level with the Trillion Tree Campaign. Plant a tree for National Arbor Day!

March is Women’s History Month and March 3 is Wangari Maathai Day. In celebration of women everywhere, here’s my post about one of my heroines, Wangari Maathai.

May is a month of renewal, and four years ago in May, Dr. Pet Mom (Bessie DiDomenica) completed her PhD in public policy at Walden University.

I thought I’d share the joy of her graduation again, which took place on July 11, 2015 just outside of Washington DC in Maryland.
