April is a good time to celebrate our pet friends. Spring is finally here! If you’ve been indoors too long, it’s time to get outside. Enjoy a long walk with your favorite pet and shake off the winter doldrums.

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) offers a few ideas to prevent animal cruelty, encourage pet adoption, and help rescue horses.

The ASPCA reminds us that April is Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month.

This week, we continue to celebrate National Women’s History Month in March. Today’s heroines are women farmers. We’ve been growing food and farming the land for centuries in America and around the world.

But even today, it’s still hard to know the number of women farmers worldwide. One source explained that most small-scale farmers are women in developing countries. In the agricultural sector, women are 60% to 80% of the farmers in non-industrialized countries.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) estimates that women make up 43% to 70% of the agricultural labor in developing countries.

Changing The World: Women Who Save Animals 👩🏽‍ 🐔 🐈 🐕

Women’s History Month was created to recognize those invisible heroines around the world. This week, we celebrate women pioneers who help animals. Maybe they didn’t set out to change the world, but these women saved the lives of many animals, big and small.

Rescuing Thoroughbred Racehorses in New Jersey 🐎

March 1 was National Horse Rescue Day. It’s a day to bring awareness to the plight of horses in America and beyond and help the thousands of unwanted horses in this country to find forever homes.

Here’s a story about a person dedicated to helping thoroughbred horses. When these horse retire from racing, their lives can quickly end. But one horse lover helps to retrain, rescue, and adopt these lovely animals to give them a better quality of life.

February is a big month for Dr. Pet Mom! Why? Because we’re celebrating Dr. Pet Mom’s third anniversary on the planet! We’re proud, happy and thrilled to encourage people to adopt animals. Senior and special needs animals have a special place in my heart. I want to help as many as possible find their furrever homes.

February is a month right in the heart of winter. This month we’re celebrating how to train your dog, dental health for pets, and responsible pet ownership.

The biggest highlight of the month is usually the Westminster Kennel Club Annual Dog Show. But in 2022, the 146th Annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is now scheduled for June 18-22, 2022, at the Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, New York.

Another cool thing about the annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show is that each breed has an associated rescue group. Be there in person if you can, but the event will also be televised.
