Seven Years Later: My Passion For Animals and My PhD 👩🏾‍🎓

UPDATE: Spring time is a time for cleaning up and clearing out. This fun project reminded me that I had a plethora of documents (research papers, case studies, handouts) related to my dissertation. Yep, seven years last month, I finished my PhD. Time to throw out old documents and dated research papers.

And I’m also reminded that my rescue kitty, Oscar was there to help me through the dissertation process. As another “Thank You” to him and all my furry friends, I’m reposting my blog about my passion for animals and my PhD. Enjoy!

Did you know that in many states, it’s against the law to give oxygen to a dog rescued in a house fire? Many fire fighters save them anyway. These kinds of outdated laws are changing and police dogs or K-9 officers are getting the emergency care they deserve.

Professional photographer and owner of Fusaro Photography, Lori Fusaro, is a longtime advocate for homeless animals. Her motto: “No dog should die alone.” Lori also volunteers her time at overcrowded animal shelters in the Los Angeles area. Her photographs of older cats and dogs improve their chances of adoption. Older pets give us their unconditional love and the lasting gift of joyful memories.

Her clients include many animal rescue organizations such as BAD RAP, Guide Dogs for the Blind, K9 Connection, and Angel City Pit Bulls. Lori lives in California with her husband, Darrell, their two rescue dogs, Gabby and Mr. French, and their two cats, Francis and Enzo.
