Changing The World: Women Who Save Animals πŸ‘©πŸ½β€ πŸ” 🐈 πŸ•

We close out Women’s History Month by recognizing some invisible heroines. This week, we celebrate women pioneers who help animals. Maybe they didn’t set out to change the world, but these women saved the lives of many animals, big and small.

We all know at least one woman who has devoted her life to helping animals. For example, in my community, Bay State Animal Cooperative is a safe, no kill rescue for animals. The non-profit is run by women who work to “reduce animal overpopulation and unnecessary suffering for companion, stray, relinquished and feral animals.”

BSAC has a warm place in my heart. It’s the place I where I found and adopted my furry boy, Oscar. He’s an older cat who makes a fine therapy pet for cats and people.

Honoring Our Brave K-9 Veterans on March 13 πŸŽ–οΈ πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

We have many reasons to celebrate everything our doggy friends do for us. March 13 is a day set aside to honor the service and sacrifices of American military and working dogs throughout history.

March 13 was National K-9 Veterans Day in honor of military service and working dogs in the United States military.

Rescuing Thoroughbred Racehorses in New Jersey 🐎

March 1 was National Horse Rescue Day. It’s a day to bring awareness to the plight of horses in America and beyond and help the thousands of unwanted horses in this country to find forever homes.

Here’s a story about a person dedicated to helping thoroughbred horses. When these horse retire from racing, their lives can quickly end. But one horse lover helps to retrain, rescue, and adopt these lovely animals to give them a better quality of life.
