Life (a component of your spiritual path) is like a Broadway musical. Life has a plot and script where the actors inevitably flub their lines or lyrics. But the show must go on and in the end, the audience is none the wiser about mistakes.

June 21, 2019: Take Your Dog To Work Day 🐶 💻

Pet Sitters International (PSI) started Take Your Dog to Work Day in 1999. Now in 2019, Take Your Dog to Work Day (TYDTWD) is celebrating 21 years. The goal is to raise funds and awareness to support animal rescue and shelter dog adoptions.

TYDTWD celebrates the “joys of pets in the workplace for one day to support their local pet communities.”

Quilting For Rescue Pets 🧵

My mission as Dr. Pet Mom is to try to help as many animals as possible. I discovered another way to help animals: Quilting.

This month, I’m finishing up my project as a volunteer for a local cat rescue, Bay State Animal Cooperative. This time of year is the busy kitten season and I’m helping to process adoption applications.

I’m sitting here with my best buddy, Oscar. He’s a rescue cat. A few years back, I had a young rescue cat, Mr. Bean, who suddenly stopped eating and was not his usual self.

Mr. Bean crouched in dark corners, didn’t play much or enjoy socializing. His condition was never fully diagnosed, but I gave Mr. Bean medication to comfort him.

A while ago a new study came out and it was immediately embraced without nary a question as truth by those with an axe to grind and/or financial/political incentive to do so.

My own inherent bias against the study made it doubly hard for me to find the truth. But embracing my bias was a good start. Below are some tips I used in my thought process. Hope they help you, too! 😀

Summertime is almost here! That means more traveling adventures for pets and their pet parents.

If you’re planning any kind of extended travel with your pet, you need to prepare and plan ahead.

A cross country trip, day trip, camping trip or travel by plane, ship, or car should include a list of critical pet items: pet emergency kit, medications, leashes and harness and plenty of food and water to name a few.

Like all Americans, I was heartbroken to hear about the suicide of Robin Williams. He suffered from depression and had substance abuse problems.

I hope that what I write about today will help others who also suffer from mental illness, as I do.

Celebrating World Turtle Day 🥳

May 23 is World Turtle Day to celebrate and protect turtles and tortoises and their disappearing habitats around the world.

Are turtles and tortoises reptiles or amphibians? What’s the difference between a turtle and a tortoise? Do turtles have teeth?

LEGO My National Monuments! 😳

In 2014 I took a whole bunch of photos of this cool event at a local shopping mall (Natick Mall, Natick MA). Please enjoy the pics — I think we can all use a nice diversion from time to time.

The LEGO Americana Roadshow was mainly United States monuments and historic buildings — all made out of LEGO building blocks. At a distance they look quite real. Impressive!
